About Zone 10

Climate: Near-tropical with winter lows from 30°F to 40°F. Frost is extremely rare. Heat and humidity define most of the year.

Geography: Southern Florida, the southernmost tip of Texas, coastal Southern California, and Hawaii lowlands.

Survival: Hurricane preparedness is essential in Florida. Water purification, heat-related illness prevention, and pest management are constant concerns.

Growing season: Essentially year-round — 330+ frost-free days. Tropical fruits, root crops, and continuous vegetable production are all viable.
